Picture in Picture Privacy Policy

Picture in Picture does not collect, track, or send any of your data. Everything stays on your device.

What We Collect

Nothing.

Picture in Picture does not collect any personal information, browsing history, or usage data. No analytics. No accounts. No sign-ups.

What We Store Locally

Nothing. The extension does not call chrome.storage in this version. The storage permission is declared so a future per-site preference can be added without re-prompting.

This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server, and we have no way to access it.

Why We Need Each Permission

Picture in Picture only asks for the permissions it needs to work. Here is what each one does:

activeTab

Read the active tab's video elements when you click the toolbar icon. No host permissions, no install warning.

scripting

Run the small toggle function inside the active tab on click. The function ships inside the extension package; no remote code.

storage

Declared for a future per-site preference. The current version reads or writes nothing.

notifications

Show a small toast if Picture-in-Picture can't run on the current page.

Third-Party Services

Picture in Picture does not connect to any external servers, analytics tools, or advertising networks. It works fully offline after you install it.

Policy Updates

If we change this policy, we will update this page. The date at the bottom shows when it was last updated.
